If you’re like most people, what first comes to your mind when you hear “cancer treatment” is “chemotherapy” and all the horrendous side effects that come with it.
But chemo is a primitive treatment based on an outdated idea: the Somatic Mutation Theory (SMT).
SMT claims that cancer emerges as a result of accumulated genetic mutations.
The upshot of this idea is that the only thing left to do is to try to kill these mutated cells, hopefully without killing you in the process - the maximum tolerated dose.
Except that modern scientific research has shown SMT to be incomplete at best: it mistakes the symptom (genetic mutations) for the cause.
